What is EMDR – Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing

EMDR is a powerful, evidence-based therapy designed to help people process and heal from traumatic or distressing life experiences. Using a combination of bilateral stimulation (through eye movements, tapping, or sound) and talking therapy, EMDR reduces the emotional intensity of painful memories—helping you regain a sense of calm, safety, and control.

Why choose EMDR?

🔍 Focus on Distressing Memories
EMDR targets specific traumatic or upsetting memories that are contributing to ongoing emotional difficulties.

🔁 Reprocessing & Desensitisation
Through guided reprocessing, EMDR helps you reduce the emotional charge of traumatic memories—so they no longer feel overwhelming when recalled.

📈 Proven Effectiveness
EMDR is backed by a growing body of research and is recommended by NICE for treating PTSD. It is also increasingly used for conditions such as anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem.
